Dynamic spring-loaded knee / ankle orthosis
Indications
- – Due to vegetative state
- – Due to cerebral palsy
- – Due to genetic syndromes
- – Due to epilepsy
- – Due to spina bifida
- – Due to near drowning
- – Paralysis (diecrete palsy of peripheral origin)
- – After cranio-cerebral trauma (CCT)
- – After surgery
- – After conservative treatment of capsular ligament injuries
- – Before and after joint replacement
- – In arthrosis and chronic polyarthritis
- – After spinal injury
- – After burns
- – After strokes
- To prevent new contractures (especially following multi-joint surgery)
- Rupture of muscle fibre in the quadriceps
- Patella tendon tear
- Quadriceps weakness
- Conservative, post-surgical for all indications that contraindicate active flexion of the knee
- Spasticity following lesions of the central nervous system
- Hereditary spastic paraparesis
- Muscular dystrophy
- Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita
- Pointed toe
Features
- Fast disconnection and reconnection of the elements by Coniungi joints. Those allow the combination knee-ankle orthosis to be converted immediately into an ankle-foot or a knee orthosis
- Variable length between pivotal points
- Infinitely variable adjustment of the knee redression range between -15° and +30°
- Adjustable foot rotation between -5°° and +5°
- Therapy in dorsiflexion (ankle)
- Therapy in extension (knee)
- Precise height adjustment of ankle hinge position for exact alignment with the anatomical joint axis
- Spring tension can be switched on and off without tools and without varying the set spring tension
- Individually adjustable shell and strap system
- Sole plate with double rocker allows limited indoor mobility
Mode of operation
The CDS® Paediatric Combination Knee / Ankle Brace can be used
to treat an extension deficit of the knee and a dorsiflexion defecit of the ankle.
The dynamic stretch stimulates the healthy growth of the shortened tissue.
