Mild intervention for Idiopathic Toe Walking

The Carbon Fibre Footplate provides mild intervention for Idiopathic Toe Walking (ITW). The footplate is light in weight but very stiff, and limits toe walking because the toes cannot bend. This combination provides a low level of support that may help with compliance for patients with ITW, compared to the alternative of blocking excess plantarflexion with an AFO design.

Designed for patients who:

• Exhibit ITW who haven't worn orthoses before or have had issues with compliance
• Present with various pathologies such as Freiberg's disease, plantar plate tears etc., and where limiting metatarsophalangeal joint (MTPJ) extension is required.
• Have an AFO but require a stiffer footplate. The Carbon Fibre Footplate can be placed under the AFO within the shoe to tune the AFO.

Standard Product Specificationss

Prefabricated
Sized by measurement using the Fast Fit sizing jig.
Sizes:4.00 - 12.25 inches (0.25 inch increments).

Choose the Carbon Fiber Footplate in the same length as the shoe's insole (do not add room for growth).

If in-between sizes, go down 0.25"in size.

Construction
Rigid Carbon Fibre supplied with double sided tape.
