Artisan – new range of innovative custom fit stock splints

Brace Orthopaedic has launched Artisan – a new innovative ‘off-the-shelf’ range of hand therapy and immobilisation splints, that can be shaped for a custom fit.

The braces are made from a lightweight malleable aluminium, covered by a soft lining. This unique pliable construction enables a ‘custom fit’ and the slim design with inner padding aides comfort, promoting patient compliance.

Artisan’s innovative design allows easy progressive adjustment of the splint by the clinician as the patient’s ROM improves, and this shaping does not require the use of a heat gun, water bath or removal of stays.

The ankle and elbow immobilisers offer exceptionally strong immobilisation due to high quality Velcro and the ability to shape them perfectly to the limb. In addition, the clinician can also re-shape the immobiliser to adjust the ROM as rehabilitation requires.

There are six products in the range including:

  • Palmar Splint
  • Ankle Immobiliser
  • Elbow Immobiliser
  • Thumb Splint
  • Metacarpal Splint
  • Ulnar Splint

“Artisan is a unique and multifunctional range of splints that provide a highly effective option for clinicians working in fracture clinics, plaster rooms, A&E and orthotics,” commented Clive Mitchell, Managing Director of Brace Orthopaedic.

“The unique design enables custom fit joint immobilisation in minutes, saving clinicians a huge amount of valuable time. Furthermore, Artisan is a highly versatile range of products offering solutions for patients with plaster allergies and skin conditions where containment would cause complications.

“Artisan is offered as a universal option and limited size ranges; this ensures that a minimal stock level is required. The products are manufactured to a high quality, offer an affordable resource to the NHS market and comply with the strict ethos of the Brace Orthopaedic brand – to always deliver innovation.”

Artisan is designed and manufactured by Artsanity, an Italian orthopaedic company specialising in hand therapy and immobilisation products.

Brace Orthopaedic is the exclusive supplier of Artisan in the UK and Ireland and stock is available by next day delivery. To arrange a demonstration please call our customer services team on 0191 258 8944 or email sales@braceorthopaedic.co.uk

Brace Orthopaedic successfully launches Artisan at AOP

Brace Orthopaedic had a successful and enjoyable experience at this year’s Association of Orthopaedic Practitioners UK Conference, which was attended by over 140 delegates. AOP Exhibition 2016

At the event, Brace Orthopaedic exhibited and launched its new Artisan range of hand therapy and immobilisation products.

“I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with orthopaedic practitioners from around the UK and demonstrating the innovative products that we offer,” commented Gary Barrett, National Sales Manager at Brace Orthopaedic.

“Our primary focus was to showcase our new Artisan range of hand therapy and immobilisation products. It’s an innovative designed solution made from a malleable aluminium with a soft padded cover for comfortable wearing. The products are lightweight and multi-functional, allowing easy progressive adjustment of the splint by the clinician.

“The ‘coalface feedback’ that I received from the delegates was really useful and they particularly liked how these innovative splints are universal left/right, which cuts down the amount of stock held by the plaster room departments.”

Gary added: “I really enjoyed the AOP Conference Gala Dinner, which provided an opportunity to network with other delegates in a more informal setting. It also pleased football fans by providing a large TV screening of England’s Euro 2016 match against Russia…shame about the 90th minute equaliser!”

The Association of Orthopaedic Practitioners UK Conference is a mix of lectures, hands-on workshops and networking opportunities relating to casting and splinting, orthopaedics and trauma, and other similar subjects. The event was held at the Leicester Marriott Hotel from 10-12 June.
